Competitions to watch out for

And this is why I created Mumma Loves Comps!

When you see a competition do you read the terms and conditions?

I didn't when I first started entering online competitions, big mistake! Take that extra few minutes to read them and see what will happen to your personal information by agreeing to the T&C.

The first "sell your information" competition I entered was a huge wake up call, I was receiving phone calls from companies I didn't agree to be calling me, no matter how many times I said I wasn't interested or please remove me from your call list, they kept calling!

This blog post will show you the type of competition to keep away from.

Oh look the chance to win a $2,000 gift card! Looks quick and easy to enter- but the devil is in the detail and those are the terms and conditions that companies that are clearly not associated with a well known brand such as Barbeques galore (which would run their own competition) are hoping you will not read the fine print.

Now lets take a closer look at these T&C's-

Now lets look at this- competitions like this one state they send your information to companies worldwide and also collect information from other sources such as browser information and cookies.

You are also agreeing that your personal information maybe used for a indefinite period or until you opt out, which is the kicker since its almost completely impossible to opt out!!

This company also states that it is not affiliated with or sponsored by or even endorsed by the companies it uses to drag you in to get your personal information to sell on to other companies.

This is why I don't share these types of competitions, I honestly don't even think they draw a winner, there isn't even a place you can see recent winners, so please check the T&C's. No business would endorse a competition like this.

Safe comping all and read the fine print x

Comment below if you have been scammed or annoyed by non-stop calls after entering a competition.
